Metal Core Technology (MCT)
Engineering, Prototyping, Equipment, Tooling and Management Services

CoreTech Systems, Inc. is prepared to offer any or all of the following services to our clients:

Application Analysis Study:

Includes preliminary engineering review of prospective component. The objective of the service is to provide the client with preliminary information important to the decision making process relative to the feasibility and future adoption of MCT as a production process.

Engineering Services:

Our staff can provide critical component, tooling and process engineering information which will contribute to the success of the program. Other services include utilization of specialist vendors to provide component design FEA and performance testing.

Prototype Services:

Design, build and management services for supply of metal core and/or plastic prototype tooling (soft or hard tooling); casting of metal cores; resin over-molding; metal core melt-out; limited finishing operations.

MCT Process Engineering:

CoreTech staff will analyze the proposed component to formulate an optimum process scenario. This would include:

  1. The number of tools and component cavities required for MCT and molding.
  2. The number and type of machines required for MCT and molding.
  3. The type of assembly equipment required should multiple cores be needed.
  4. Identification of process temperatures for core overmolding.
  5. Plastic part degate and deflash.
  6. Method of core melt-out.
  7. Wash, rinse dry requirements.
  8. Component secondary operations, i.e., requirements for insert insertion, plugs, gaskets, testing, etc.
  9. Specific machine or production cell operation.
  10. Production cell control system.
  11. SPC integration of process.

Production Equipment:

Includes the supply of all equipment necessary to produce the part utilizing MCT process. This includes metal core; plastic molding; core melt-out; automation; material handling; and other dedicated production equipment. An optimized equipment cell layout will be engineered based on required production volumes and manual/automation level desired by the client. CTS will manage the installation and integration of all equipment to yield a turn-key production cell. Staffing of the manufacturing cell during ramp-up of production available at clients request.

MCT Tooling:

CTS staff is specialized in designing metal core tooling to achieve optimum performance results. Utilizing a select group of first quality tool makers, CTS will furnish metal core and/or plastic prototype or production level tooling. Tooling will be engineered to mount on the chosen production equipment to yield an efficient manufacturing solution for each application.

Metal Core Alloy and Heat Transfer Fluid:

CTS can provide first quality metal core alloy and melt-out fluids to meet prototype or production needs.

APPLICATION ANALYSIS STUDY

SCOPE:

The Application Analysis Study (AAS) is offered to provide the client with information as to the viability of the targeted component to be molded utilizing the Metal Core Technology manufacturing discipline. The AAS includes a preliminary engineering review of a prospective component. The service provides the client with key engineering and economic feedback critical in the decision making process to continue development of the component.

THE APPLICATION ANALYSIS STUDY:

With receipt of component drawings, information surrounding the processing of resin targeted for the application and other preliminary information, the following stages of the AAS can be provided.

1.0 Production Viability.

Statement of ability for the component to be produced utilizing the Metal Core Technology process.

2.0 Component Design Review.

Engineering review of component design with particular attention to identify areas which may require design modification and/or concession to facilitate manufacture via MCT.

3.0 Prototype Supply.

Proposal scenario, including budgetary prices, for the design and build of metal core and/or plastic prototype tooling and subsequent production of a limited number of prototype parts.

4.0 Production Scenario Overview.

Provides budgetary prices for the supply of production metal core and plastic tooling. Includes overview of production equipment required to produce the component in volume. Overview will include projected production rate/cycle time estimates as well as budgetary pricing for production equipment.

LEAD-TIME:

A written report will be submitted within twenty-one (21) working days of receipt of component drawings; resin/resin processing; production requirement; and other necessary information requested by CTS pertinent to this particular application.

PRICE OF AAS:

The charge for the above AAS service is $_________ (US$). Amount payable Net 15 days from placement of order.
